COMING: THE FULL HISTORY OF THE NATURALIST'S NOTEBOOK, 2008-now

How We Created a Space for Everyone Who's Even a Little Curious About the Last 13.8 Billion Years (Give or Take).

Starting point: The 13.8-billion-year-old universe is everything.

We're building a photo-rich exploration and explanation of each of The Naturalist's Notebook's years since we began pursuing the idea in 2008. Each year has been a new chapter in the evolution of our spaces and our creative process. We opened the doors in June 2009. In every season since then the Notebook has been filled with installations built around the latest scientific knowledge (including books); learning-driving interactions; consumable themes; and people of all backgrounds from all over the planet. Each NN edition has been a uniquely creative nature-science-art exploration that evolved from the previous year's. Every season in each Naturalist's Notebook space has involved everyone who walked in the door (or clicked on our Facebook page or website) and ventured out with us and some of the greatest minds on the planet to explore the frontier of scientific knowledge about nature, ourselves and the last 13.8 billion years. By 2011 we were sketching in and beginning to build a logically ordered 13.8-billion-year environment in our spaces, and we still are. Stay tuned to see and learn how it all has worked. Stay tuned to see how it evolves as we move toward a culminating 10th-anniversary 2017 season that we hope will blow at least a few budding, learning-hungry 13.8-billion-year minds!

As we've shown through interactive installations at the Notebook for the last eight years, this universe of ours is a grand reality. And we're all in it together.  Come join us in a 13.8-billion-year-exploration.
